When you pick us from among other general contractors in Los Angeles, we’ll be there to help you make decisions and filter various options. We will also go over the factors that affect the overall bathroom remodeling cost. For example, would you like to install recessed shelving for storage? / How We Work

Our Bathroom Remodeling Process

We take pride in our many years of experience in remodeling bathrooms.
Our experience with construction is what sets us apart from competing bathroom contractors in Los Angeles. Our team has developed a systematic approach to bathroom makeovers:

Design and Framing
3D Design & Rendering

Our team meet with you to better understand what you want in your space. We brainstorm ideas with you to come up with the perfect design, pick the most suitable materials, and more. Our team will frame the necessary shape of the space according to the design you approved for your bathroom remodel. Framing allows us to start shaping the space and structure but also enables you to envision what the bathroom remodel will look like when finished.

Permits & Demolition

Once the design for your bathroom remodeling is finalized, we pull necessary permits from the local department of building and safety so your renovation is authorized. Later, inspectors will verify that the work we do meets the necessary standards and all building code requirements. Out with the old before we can bring in the new for your bathroom remodeling! Demolition involves removing old bathroom fixtures to prepare for remodeling. Old showers, bathtubs, vanities, etcetera are eradicated to make way for your new implements. Flooring is also removed at this point to provide a blank slate from the ground up.

Plumbing & Electrical
Plumbing & Electrical

At this stage of the bathroom remodel, we run pipes for supplying and draining water through holes in the framework and connect these pipes. Fixtures such as sinks and shower heads will be installed later. With new lighting, ventilation, and other necessities in your bathroom makeover plan, we do some electrical reconfiguration to coincide with your plans. Each new outlet, light fixture, or otherwise will be addressed as we install the rough electrical aspects.

Once the rough plumbing and electrical work have passed inspection, our remodeling team tend to the insulation in the walls. Keep in mind that proper insulation is important for maintaining a comfortable space that is as efficient as possible.

Tile Installation
Construction Costs
  • Drywall Patching and Repair. Preparing the space for painting is a huge component in almost all bathroom remodels. Drywall work may include patching damaged points, adding moisture-protecting solutions to deter water, and planing the drywall to prep for painting.
  • Hot Mop the Shower Pan. Hot mopping with tar creates a waterproof barrier between the shower floor and the subfloor in your bathroom remodel. We will apply several layers of hot tar to the shower pan to ensure you get a water-resilient platform for your shower.
  • Lath and Chicken Wire in Preparation for Cement. Felt paper and wire mesh are used to add structural support for areas where tile will eventually go. As an adage, this extra step ensures you have a water-resilient space.
  • Cement in Preparation for Tile Installation. “Hardie Backers,” or floating cement will be loaded onto the surfaces where tile will eventually be installed, whether that is the floors or walls. The cement must go through a curing process before we will be ready for tile installation.
  • Tile Installation on the Walls and Floor. From the walls to the floor and shower pan, we finish all tile work before proceeding to the next phase of the project. The tiling process can also include grout and caulking installation to give a completed finish.
Priming & Painting

Your project is now ready for all those final finishes to make the look complete. We handle any priming and painting on walls and trim, and make the necessary adjustments as we close in n the end of the renovation.

Connecting Fixtures

The sink, vanity, toilet, bathtub, and other implements that make the space complete must be hooked up when the paint has dried. At last, we turn on the lights and see the completed bathroom in all of its glory, running the fan and seeing water pouring from faucets.

Final Inspection

When all the work is done, the building inspector does a final inspection, verifying that all the bathroom remodeling work is safe, functional, and up to the local building standards. No two renovation projects are identical, but in our experience, the general duration for a standard remodel project is between 4-6 weeks. Contact us to discuss the specifics of your project, and we can provide a general timeline.

John Teschner

Kitchen Remodeling, Studio City

What was important for me about Neev that made me hire him was that when I asked him serious questions, he had the answers. I felt like I could trust him to do what he said and if he did what he said, I knew I’d be happy. The communication was great, I spoke with Neev every day, if not once, maybe two-three times. The quality of the job came out just as I expected, really good. The project came in before the deadline and right on budget. What more can you ask for these days?
Amy Karthan

Kitchen Remodeling, Manhattan Beach

The most important aspect to me in a kitchen remodel was getting the kitchen cabinets’ color that I wanted which was the dark-blue color. Oasis Builders actually listened to what I wanted. Neev reassured me that everything will be done in a timely manner and he was the only contractor who didn’t talk me out of what I wanted. I had a very tight timeframe with regards to getting what I wanted with the remodel. The timeframe was met and it was within my budget.

How long does it take to remodel s shower?

Every shower remodel is unique, so some can take longer than others. The duration from demolition to finish can vary depending on a number of factors, such as whether you need new shower floor tile, you are doing a bathtub to shower conversion, and even which shower remodel contractors you choose. For reference, design can take a few days, demolition can take a few days, and tile work can take a few days. A shower remodel may take anywhere from a week to a few weeks to complete.

What kind of tiles its best for bathrooms?

The best tiles for bathrooms are those designed to be water resistant. Vinyl, glass, ceramic, and porcelain tiles are all good options.

How do I choose bathroom tiles?

The easiest way to choose bathroom tiles is to think of the design you want to create. Then, find tiles that match the size, color, and shape you need to bring your shower wall design to life.

What are characteristics and elements of bathroom tile?

Bathroom and shower tile are virtually one in the same. With these tile types, they are engineered to withstand exposure to water for years. Failure to use water resistant tile when creating shower tile patterns in your master or guests’ baths will lead to your entire remodel falling apart. Kitchen and floor tile are not made of the right materials or able to be sealed to be used for the purposes you have in mind.

Shower tile is often made of ceramic or porcelain materials. This tile type can be cut into nearly any shape or size, which means your bathroom remodel is not limited. Round, square, diamond, and other shapes are available. Furthermore, nearly the entire color spectrum is available for your tile design installation project.

Is porcelain or ceramic tile better for shower?

Both materials are perfectly fine to use as shower tile. However, porcelain tiles tend to have a better water resistance than ceramic tiles. This is because ceramic tiles are softer and more likely to retain water over time.
